Devotion Requires Endurance / "Baptism"

God promises to draw near to all who desire to draw close to Him.
James 4:8 reads;
"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
James includes within that verse, what is required along with our desire.
To "wash our hands" and "purify our hearts". This refers to bringing our deeds into conformity to the teachings of Christ, and doing so from the heart, which is a condition we can ask God for (Ps.51:10; 24:4; Eze.36:26; Deut.30:6; Luke10:27).
God is the refiner of hearts (Prov.17:3; Mal.3:3; Zech.13:9), and can make it pure with His spirit (Rom.2:29; Col.2:11; Phil.3:3).
But note what we must contribute in this regard.
James refers to it when he says, "you double-minded".
This refers to the first command, which tells us that we must love God with our whole soul, strength, and mind (Mark12:29,30).
We all start out from a place where we have other loves, which compete with our love of God (1John2:15; Matt.6:24)...keeping our devotion to God, ambivalent (Luke9:62; Phil.3:13). Our devotion to God is then divided.... "double-minded".
As Jesus told us, if something within our heart is holding us back, it is better to cut it out, then to lose out on life (Matt.18:9).

This is the meaning of baptism (1Pet.3:21). It is for repentance of your former course...a symbol of being washed clean of it, and leaving your former life and desires, behind (1Pet.1:14,15; Eph.4:22,23; Acts22:16; 1John3:9; 5:18).
Coming up from the water is a symbol of starting a new life (Acts5:20; Rom.6:4)...
a life lived for Christ and the Will of God (1Pet.4:2; 2Cor.5:15; Matt.28:19,20; 1John2:17).
This life never ends (John11:26; 6:47; 8:51), but is generated from Holy Spirit (Rom.8:11; John5:21; Gal.6:8), which gives life within our mortal bodies, and eternity to our souls (John6:63; Rom.8:2,11; 1Pet.1:23; Luke8:11).
The actual baptismal "water" which washes us, and the "seed" which gives us life, is the Word of God (Eph.5:26; John15:3; 17:17; James1:18).
We accept God's Truths into our heart as the good ground accepts fine seed (James1:21; Luke8:15), and we cultivate it within us, daily striving to care for and water it. We feel it grow stronger, until we reach the full stature of Christ (Matt.13:8; John12:24; 1Cor.15:36; Col.3:3,5; Rom.8:13; Gal.4:19; Eph.4:13; Phil.1:6).

This means eternal life to all... both chosen and not.
This is the essence of baptism, which is only a physical symbol.
John the Baptist performed it in symbol of repentance among the Jews (Mark1:4).
Jesus commanded it as a symbol of salvation from the crooked and twisted generation, attained by means of his commands, centrally being, to love (Matt.28:19,20; John13:34).
Remember that John the Baptist told those he baptized...
"I baptize you with water, but he who follows me will baptize with spirit and fire." (Luke3:16)
This baptism by the anointing "oil" of God's spirit (Luke4:18; Acts10:38)
and of a purifying crucible of torment, persecution and affliction (1Pet.4:1; Isa.48:10; Mal.3:2,3);
(as well as the purification by God's Word -Jer.23:29; John15:3)
is for those elected to be heirs, but Luke3:16 points to whose baptism has more force.
If we are on a path that imitates Christ in these two "baptisms", this is our new life... and it is not about physical water.

God does not reproach a sincere heart (James1:5; Isa.42:3; 2Chron.16:9 A).
He has His eye upon those of complete heart, and has a purpose for them. We let Him guide us on the road of life. Be sensitive to His spirit, and let go of your own goals. Obey His direction, and become like a child who trusts his father. Let Him lead the way. He loves you more than we humans can imagine.
Shake off the dead dust of false prophets from off you, and go forward to greater light. Do not be anxious. Persevere toward the Kingdom, free of the past. God is coming with retribution for those who exploited and tormented those searching for the way. Be comforted.

Often... God's undeserved kindness is sufficient for us (2Cor.12:9,10; 1Cor.10:13). During this time of test, we may not receive all we wish from Him, because it is a time of testing by Satan.
Remember that Jesus asked, while on the torture stake, "My God, my God, Why have you abandoned me?" (Matt.27:46)
This teaches us, that it may seem as if God is not with us. This is not true, just as it was not true of Jesus. The reason we may feel this way, is because God knows that we must reach a point where we are faithful by our own choice, integrity, and resolve. Satan demands it, just as he did with Job (Job 1:8,9,10,11,12; Rev.12:10-11; 1John2:13-14).
Can you see that if God carried us through our testing period, it would be cheating?
So do not feel that God is not answering your own prayers. He hears them. He is protecting us from more than we can deal with (1Cor.10:13).
The rest, is now up to each of us.
If we look at Rev.19:8, we learn that we must prove faithful on our own merit. At the same time, we give all glory to God for our endurance. It is due to His training, that we become firm and strong (1Pet.5:10; James1:3). Only those called ones who finish the "race" with their tested integrity intact, will inherit the blessings God has promised (2Cor.4:17; 2Pet.1:3; 1Cor.1:7,8,9; 1Thess.2:12; Heb.6:11,12; Prov.12:24; Mark 13:13; Isa.65:22).

When this is all over, God will be free to lavish upon us, blessings beyond our imagination (1Cor.2:9).
For now, we are in a spiritual wilderness, with all it's perils (Matt.4:1; Luke22:31). But we are not alone (Matt.28:20; 18:20). There is God's "pillar" of "fire" and "cloud" (Ps.68:7; 105:39; Neh.9:12; Jer.23:29; Rev.19:13,14; 1:7; Heb.12:1; Isa.4:5,6; Rev.14:1). God, through his Temple, will guide us (1Cor.3:16; Rom.8:4,14; Gal.5:16,25; Rev.22:2; Eze.36:8; 17:23), and we also have each other (1Thess.5:11). That is a lot... enough to be successful (Prov.3:6; Josh.1:8; Deut.6:6,8).
...successful enough to make it home (Heb.13:14; 11:10,16; 2Pet.3:13; Ps.37:29; Phil.3:14).

Symbolic Earthquakes

( Luke 21:11; Rev.6:12 )

"Regarding the prophecy of Luke 23:30, see it's association to earthquakes, at Isa.2:19,21. This literally says, "shake the earth".
Regarding that, also see Heb.12:26; Isa.13:13; 24:19; Hosea 10:8; Haggai 2:6,7.
There is great change afoot. God is allowing a sifting and shaking, to separate and sift out, those who are fit for life. These tremors will unearth the truth about the present heavens and earth, and the evil work being done and hidden within them (2Pet.3:10,7). This quaking is being caused by the voice (decrees/judgments) of God (Heb.12:26; Dan.7:7,8,21,26,9,22,18,27; Joel 3:16; Jer.25:30; Eze.38:19; Hosea 11:10; Amos 1:2; 3:8,7; Eze.29:21; Ps.132:17; 75:10; 112:9; Rev.22:6,16; Zech.4:9; Nahum 1:7; Prov.18:10).
He will cause what is low, to be raised up, and what is high, to be brought down to the dust, just as a great literal earthquake does.

Jer.31:22 -literally: woman [daughter who was elusive/backsliding/shrunk back -see context] will [come forward to] defend/shield/protect/guard, her master. In doing so, this defies the usual scenario of a master defending his maidservant. In her doing so, streams of water are produced in the wilderness for God's people. -Isa.43:19; Jer.31:22; Isa.52:2,1,3; Rev.12:6,14).

The reason there was an earthquake upon Jesus death (Matt.27:50,51,54), was also a meaningful manifestation of God's release of anger, when He upturned His covenant with Israel (Matt.21:43,42; Matt.21:37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44,45). It caused the curtain which enclosed God's abode within the Most Holy, to be torn apart, (Mark 15:37,38; Luke 23:45), exposing that the ark of God's covenant was gone. The armies of Titus found the Holy of Holies quite empty in 70 A.D. Just as Jesus said, "Your house is left to you abandoned" 
(Eze.8:6; Matt.23:37,38; Jer.22:5; Matt.24:2).
So will the wayward Temple members today, be upturned, debased, and abandoned.

The day of reckoning rushes upon them, when these Harlotrous representative agents of their mother Covenant of Death ("Babylon the Great" -Rev.17:5)

will have to face the writing on the wall (Dan.5:5,6,25,26,27,30; Luke 12:20,21; Prov.13:22; Job 27:8; Prov.10:2) when they will lose all their worldly treasures on earth (Matt.6:19; 1John2:15,16), given them by the god of this world (Matt.4:8; 1Pet.5:8; 2Cor.2:11; 11:3), and taken away by his Gentile sons of destruction (2Thess.2:3; Rev.13:4; 9:3,11; 17:16), with whom she also fornicates.

Jesus told us that "earthquakes" will take place in various localities (Matt.24:7,8).
As the truths of God are brought out while the seven seals are opened and their content publicized (Rev.5:1,5,7,9; John15:15; Rev.1:1; 10:2,3,8,7; 20:12; Dan.7:10; 12:4,10,3; Matt.24:14; Rev.14:6,7,8; Isa.48:20; Rev.18:4; Isa.44:23), all the strongly entrenched falsehoods "in various places", are overturned (2Cor.10:4,5; Eph.5:11) and judged (Matt.12:36,37; 15:18). There are many such manifestations of falsehood..."various places"; because up until then, "Babylon the Great" (lit. "Great Confusion") reigns (and death reigns, through the famine she causes -Isa.28:15; Amos 8:11,12). Is this not presently evident on all the forums, and even among those claiming to be anointed priests?

All the end time powerful lying signs, powerful demonic portents, and the false prophets who teach them (1Tim.4:1; Rev.12:9,15,17; 20:7,8; 16:13,14,15,16; 19:20; 13:4; 2Thess.2:8,9,10; Matt.24:4,5,24,25), will become mire in the streets (Hab.2:16; Jer.13:13; Rev.14:8; Micah 7:10; Isa.51:22,23) when compared to the beaming revelations of God (John1:5; Acts 26:18; John3:19; 2Thess.2:11,12; Rev.20:10; Isa.24:6; Hosea 6:5; Rev.11:5; Jer.5:14; Zech.1:6).

These events happen in the spiritual realm, and are perceived with spiritual eyes that are open and awake. These events will eventually change the surface of the "earth", removing rebellious kings, and installing faithful kings 
(Dan.2:21; 4:17; Rev.10:11; Ps.82:1; 75:7; Jer.1:10; 31:28). 
These are spiritual earthquakes, and concern the removal of the wicked powers that exist ("heavens"), and the installation of the powers that were not....a new heavens and earth in which righteousness dwells.

Who are the "reapers"? / "Angels" / "clothed with the 'sun'"

Matt.13:39 reads;
"The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels."
But Matt.13:41,43 also read;
"The Son of Man will send out his angels (Rev.12:7; 19:11,14; 17:14), and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil (Eph.5:11; Jude 1:12; 2Pet.2:17; Matt.15:13). Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father (Dan.12:3; Phil.2:15). Whoever has ears, let them hear."
Please compare this to Hosea 6:5 and Rev.12:1. ("Who Is The 'Woman'?")
The "righteous shine like the sun". They are clothed with righteousness and the sun (Col.3:12; Rev.12:1). It is the first impression which they give as to their identity. 
What does it mean to be "clothed with the sun"?
See Gal.3:27; Matt.17:2; Rev.1:16; 2Cor.4:6; and Rom.13:14

So Matt.13:41,43 helps us to "hear", that the harvesting messengers sent out by Christ, are the righteous, who shine like the sun. Their light is due to the brilliance of spiritual light, which is sourced in the face of Christ.

"Angels" means "messenger" in Greek -Dan.4:17; Ps.104:4; Heb.1:6,7,14; 2:5,16; Mal.3:1.

Fasting / Wilderness Testing / Dominion of the Beasts

I am posting this is response to some questions, so that the one who asked them may read my reply with the pop up scriptures.

Hello,
You seem to ask about fasting (and why Jesus did it)
(and the thought of him entering the wilderness after his anointing
and returning from there with the power of the spirit),
Should we fast when we are having spiritual difficulty?
Why do the elders seem to have absolute authority to teach in the "kingdom halls"?
Why the teaching that one needs to be a "JW" in order to be on the right path,
why are "JW's" afraid to express their thoughts,
what happens to those who do express "unofficial" thoughts,
why the GB leaders are the only ones considered as lead (anointed) by God's spirit.

To answer each of these thoughts in depth, would take a book,
so I will be brief with each one. For more depth about a particular one of these subjects, I can suggest going to my website, and using the search box.

After Jesus was anointed by God, he was elected as the initial "seed" and heir of God's kingdom (Gal.3:16; Heb.1:5,13; Eph.1:10,22; Rom.4:13). As such, he initiated the pattern for each invited heir (1Pet.2:21; Rev.14:4; 1Cor.11:1; Gal.3:29), including following that election with Satan's testing (Matt.4:1). Each of those invited as heirs, must go through Satan's accusations and tests (Luke22:31; Amos9:9; Zech.3:1,8; Rev.12:10; Job.1:6,11; John15:20; Acts14:22). The "wilderness" is used to represent this time of test by Satan (Rev.12:6,14 (2Cor.2:11); John17:15; Ps.1:6; Rev.17:3; Heb.3:7,8).
Those who come through such tribulations and tests successfully, are refined and sealed as faithful by them 
(Isa.48:10; 1Pet.4:12; Heb.12:6; Dan.11:35; Jer.9:7; Zech.13:9; Isa.48:10) 
(Rev.13:15; 9:15; 17:6; Zech.6:5; Eze.14:21,22; Rev.6:2,3,4,5,6,7,8; Zech.5:3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11; Rev.18:4; Matt.24:31,28) 
(Rev.12:4; Rev.11:2; 13:7; 9:5,4; 7:3; 6:9,11; 12:10,11).

Those who don't come through as faithful, have the wickedness in their hearts made manifest (Rev.17:3; Mal.3:18; 2Tim.3:9).

Why did Jesus fast during this time?
This is symbolic, and represents a denial of spiritual food sourced with men (Matt.15:9; Col.2:8; Eph.4:14) and reliance instead, upon God's Word and spirit (Matt.4:4; Eph.6:17; Phil.2:16; Heb.4:12; Rom.3:4; 2Tim.3:15,16,17). This must be imitated by all those who wish to come through their time of testing, successfully (John8:47; 1John4:6).
We too then, must not be guided by the doctrines of men, and in this way, we "fast".
Deprivations of our literal flesh, are of no benefit (Col.2:23). Our benefit comes from Christ feeding us (Eph.5:29).

The authority of the elders in the congregation, is given to them by means of the governing leaders. This is symbolically depicted at Rev.9:1,2,3 and Rev.13:11,12,14,15,16,17; 19:20).
Those scriptures also depict and explain your other questions...
   about the assertion that the path of "JW's" is the only one of salvation,
   why "JW's" are afraid and forbidden to express thoughts which are not the official current doctrine,
   and what happens to those who defy this tyrannical demand.

Regarding why the leaders are the only ones considered as lead (anointed) by God's spirit...
This tout was also prophesied to occur.
This relates to the same "star" depicted at Rev.9:1 and Rev.8:10,11; 13:11; 19:20.
The false prophet depicted in these scriptures (who works in behalf of the Beast, whose power it uses), is also depicted as a Harlot, who "rides" that same "Beast".
Prophecy tells us, that the time comes for this last Harlot, to declare herself as the only one fit to rule. (Isa.1:21; 47:7,8,9; Rev.18:7,8)

God gives His spirit to those whom He chooses.
Those who receive it, must provide it's fruitage,
especially during this time of famine.
(John15:4,5,8,16; Isa.43:10,21; 1Pet.2:9,10,5; Eph.2:20,21,22)

"Generation"

My reply to a letter:
When "generation" is referred to at Matt.24:34, it does not speak so much of a time, as it speaks of a result.
Please let me explain.
In other words, the Greek of "generation" is actually speaking of something which spirit generates, or creates. 
The result of that action, is what is generated, created. 
The "generation", 
are all those who are born, or generated, from spirit.

There can be a righteous generation (Ps.112:2; 14:5), born of God's spirit (1Pet.1:23; John 1:13; 1John 5:18), with Him as Father (Eph.5:1; Matt.5:48; Phil.2:15);
or a crooked and twisted generation (Deut.32:5; Acts 2:40; Matt.12:39), born of Satan's spirit (Eph.2:2; 1John 3:12; Rev.16:13; 1Tim.4:1), with him as father (John 8:44; Isa.27:1 -lit. "coiling" = "'crooked and twisted' serpent").

Each of these "generations", 
are the "seed" which come forth from the spirit of each "father".
They have existed from the beginning (1John 3:12; Heb.11:4), and will exist until the all prophecy concerning them, is fulfilled (Gen.3:15; Jer.33:17-18; Rev.5:10; Heb.13:15; Matt.24:34).

And so, 
by stating that this generation 
(speaking of a particular created group -John 6:63; 5:21; 2Cor.3:6; 5:17; 1Cor.15:45; Rom.8:14) 
will not pass away until all things occur;
Jesus was letting us know, that all things prophesied 
about all Christ's Called Ones, both faithful "wheat" and unfaithful "weeds", will happen, before they pass away (Dan.12:7; 1Cor.15:24). 
He also tells the "wheat", that he will be with them, throughout time, up until the end (Matt.28:20; 18:20). This also helps us to see, that if he is with each of them throughout time, up until the end, they exist throughout the years, up until the end. Therefore, the meaning of this righteous generation, is not about a group of contemporaries limited by a literal lifetime, but about a group known by their righteousness.
Jesus tells us Matt.24:34, because most of the prophecies about this group, will be undergoing complete fulfillment, without being so recognized. 
Why? 
Because,
 but for a few who find the road of truth to life (Luke 13:23,24; Matt.7:14); the "entire inhabited earth" (Rev.12:9), will be deceived by Satan's counterfeit "signs and portents" (2Thess.2:9,10) that lead to idolatry (Rev.13:8). Satan will fabricate a counterfeit fulfillment of prophecy, using his only resource.... his dominion over the physical world around us (1John 5:19). Jesus does not want his Called Ones to be misled by the agents of Satanic deception 
(Matt.24:24,25; 2Pet.3:17; Rev.12:15; 16:13; 2Cor.11:3,4,20,13; Rev.2:20; Luke 21:36) 
(1Tim.6:20,21; 2Tim.1:13,14; 2Cor.10:5).

Instead of this "generation" "overlapping" during the span of the last 100 years;
in truth, they have been overlapping since the first century.
The WT is so absorbed by their own importance, everything is interpreted from the narrow perspective of the period of their own existence.

Note what Jesus said in the very next verse (Matt.24:35)...
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away."
This is opened more by Matt.5:18...
"I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God's law will disappear until its purpose is achieved."
(Jer.1:12,11,13,14,15,16,17,18; Rev.10:11)

"Heaven and earth" are going to pass away.
2Pet.3:10-13 reads;
"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells."

Of course, this destruction is not literal, but according to verse 7;
"By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
(Jer.23:29; Jer.5:14NIV ; Rev.11:5; Matt.10:20; Jer.1:9; Hosea 6:5NIV )
Also, the "new heavens and new earth" are spoken of where "righteousness dwells". Such righteousness is not found in the literal heavens and earth, but in the hearts of men. 

So since all the "ungodly" (Called Ones who proved to be wicked slaves)
are to pass away; how will this passing away be recognized?
Remember....this refers exactly to what Jesus said,
"This generation will by no means pass away, until all things occur."
Yes...the "wheat" and "weeds" will not receive their punishment or reward,
until all things prophesied, the Great Tribulation and Armageddon included, are completed. 
Jesus tells us this, because these Great spiritual events,
will go unrecognized by those "asleep" (Rev.3:2,3; Matt.24:43; 1Thess.5:2,4; 2Pet.3:10; Rev.16:15).
These events will be declared as already fulfilled, by false apostles, even before the genuine end of the ungodly, arrives (2Thess.2:1,2,3; Dan.7:25).

I hope this helps to eradicate the lies we learned from the WT,
about "generation", as well as how the things written will actually be fulfilled among these two "generations".

A "New Name"..."Michael". Why?

Reader:
I have another question... 
The new name received which no one knows but the one receiving it. As Rev. 2:17, Isaiah 62:2, and Rev.3:12.... 
Is this new name to be given at the same time as when all the holy ones conquered?

Your question requires a thorough reply, in order to answer it fully.
For this reason, I will divide it into three parts, to make both writing it, and reading it, more manageable.

Likely you learned at that site (http://topicalbible.org/n/name.htm), that a Bible name often reflects the traits of who a person is....the record that they have made with God, and their divine assignment. 
From your three cited scriptures, we learn many symbolic things about the "new name". This new name is associated with the New Covenant, the new creation, and those who sing the new song (2Cor.5:17; Rev.21:5; Eph.4:23,24; 1Cor.5:7; Col.3:10; Rev.14:3; Ps.40:3; 1Cor.14:15 -new understandings- Isa.43:19,18; 65:17; Rev.20:12; 10:8,7). These things are also associated with the new wine Christ promised the faithful (Mark 2:22; Matt.26:29; Rev.3:20).
It may help to make a list of the things we learn from your three cited scriptures.

What we learn:
1. "Overcoming" is required. The name is "written" on a "white" "pebble", 
      and only the receiver "knows" the "name". Receiving the new name 
      is accompanied by receiving "hidden manna".
2. God Himself will bestow this new name, through Christ.
3. "Overcoming" is again required. The new name reflects God, New Jerusalem, 
     and Jesus Christ's own new name (John15:21; 17:12; Dan.12:1; Mark13:13)
(On the basis of Christ's new name, his followers who also bear it, will be persecuted.)

A closer scriptural look at each of these points, opens up the meaning further.

"Overcoming"/"conquering"
   Revelation's depictions are rife with spiritual warfare (Rev.6:4,8; 16:14,16; 6:17; 8:6 (1Cor.14:8); Rev.9:4,7,9,15,16; 11:7; 12:7,17; 13:7,10,15; 17:14; 18:24; 19:11,14,19,21; 20:8,9). 
For a time, it is the unsealed Holy Ones who are conquered, trampled by Gentile Beast, and imprisoned (Rev.13:7; 11:2; Luke21:24; Rev.13:10). They must reverse their circumstances, in order to "overcome" their enemies and become sealed.
For those who do this, the new name and all the blessings that come with it, await.
How do they overcome?
We are pointedly told, at Rev.12:11.

This testimony is based upon God's commands, which His genuine witnesses have branded on their hearts (Heb.10:16) which would be symbolized by a mark on their hand and forehead (Deut.6:6,8; 11:18; Rev.14:1; 7:3; 22:4)
Why is this "overcoming" by testimony, so great a feat?
Because any testimony that is disloyal toward the supremacy of the Beast, is punished by "death" (Rev.13:16,17,15; John16:2; Mark 8:35).

  "Hidden Manna"
The hidden manna (truth -Matt.4:4; John17:17) is the same reward as the tree of life (life -John6:63; 10:10 B) and the morning star (the way 2Pet.1:19) (Rev.2:7,28,17).
All three refer to Christ (John14:6).

  "Written"/"inscribed"
This Bible word carries with it the idea of being engraved. It shows devotion and servitude by the wearer, and of never forgetting what the mark stands for. This can be for good... (Isa.49:16,15; Song of Solomon 8:6), or for bad (Jer.17:1).

  "white"
This color (when genuine and not just on the surface), stands for purity/righteousness, before God (Isa.1:18; Mark 9:3; Heb.7:26; 1Cor.1:30; Rev.19:8)

 "pebble"
To derive the divine and accurate interpretation of the meaning of this symbolic pebble, I turn to the only other place it is mentioned within the Greek scriptures.
It is found at Acts 26:10. This link, "pebble", agrees with the light this verse sheds on the meaning.
In that verse, Paul uses the same Greek word (ψῆφον), to describe his "vote"/judgment...his previous decision to condemn Christ's disciples. A black pebble historically signified a negative judgment of condemnation. A white pebble, one of innocence and righteousness.

To be given a white pebble by Christ, is to be given his approval. That approval would also assure the receiver, that Jesus decided to apply his sacrifice to them, to wash their sins away (Jer.33:16; Rom.6:7,5; Rev.6:9,11; Mark 8:35), based upon their own sacrifice for truth. How precious a treasure, is the new name, written on that little white pebble!

But there is more to this white pebble and it's inscription.
God's Laws had previously been written on stone tablets (Ex.31:18). In this present age, He writes His Laws on hearts (2Cor.3:3,9). If we have refined our heart by means of the cleansing fire of God's Word (Num.31:23; Zech.13:9; Job 23:10,11; 1Cor.3:13,14,15,10,11; Matt.7:24,25; Eph.2:20; Prov.9:1), and have had our heart circumcised by God's spirit (Rom.2:28,29; Deut.30:6; Jer.24:7); Christ will read our heart, and give us his approval. For those Chosen, God's approval includes a designation among His everlasting Temple and Heavenly City.
    But receiving this pebble is not without it's obligation. 
It comes with a new name inscribed upon it, designating what the Master expects of the receiver...a calling to servitude, which the recipient must eternally fulfill. This is not a burden, but a reward....the joy of the Master (Matt.25:23)!

"New Name"

    God changed Abram's name, to Abraham. Why did God give Abram a new name? 
Gen.17:5 reads;
"No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations."
(Neh.9:7; Rom.4:17)
Abram means [Exalted Father].
Abraham means, [Father of Many].
Abraham was the exalted father to the Jews (John8:33; Matt.15:24; Luke19:9,10).
However, this was not to remain the basis of salvation...
Nor the role of Abraham as father to the physical Jews only!
(Luke3:8; Matt.21:43; John3:3,6,5; Mark10:14; Heb.1:7; 2:5,16; Gal.3:26,27,28,29) (Gen.28:12,13,14,17; John1:51; Rev.22:4,3).

God made a covenant with "Abraham", that he would become a father of "many Nations", not just the Israelites (Gen.17:5).
This multinational group (Rev.5:9,10; 1Pet.2:9,10), would become spiritual Jews (Rom.2:28,29), and therefore, have "Abraham" as their spiritual father (Gal.3:28,29), through their imitation of Abraham's faith (Rom.4:16,17; 3:22,24,30; 9:8; 4:11; Gal.3:7,14; 1Cor.12:13; Eph.2:15; John10:16; Col.3:11.

The point of all this is,
that when God's purpose for one of his servants changes....
so does that servant's name. The name is a reflection of divine designation.
To be given a new name, is to be given a new designation...a new purpose...a new responsibility.

"which no one knows except him who receives it"

This is also true of Christ (Rev.19:12).
If we learn why Jesus is the only one who knows his own "new name" [before he gives it to others -(end of Rev.3:12)], then we can understand why others have exclusive knowledge of their new name.

Lets go back to remembering that having a name inscribed on one's self, also reflects that you are devoted in your heart and owned by what or who, that engraving represents. They are those whom you serve (Rev.22:4,3; 7:3).
To have exclusive knowledge of that inscription, would mean that you have exclusive knowledge of what the name of your object of devotion, means.
    We are openly told, that the new name includes,
"the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name." (Rev.3:12; 2:17)
To know your new designation and name,
including the other names listed in Rev.3:12,
is to know God, New Jerusalem, and Christ's new name.
If others do not fully understand and know God, His Holy City, or Christ's new name/designation;
then they cannot know the new designation/name, that the faithful receive.
Let's look at this scripturally.

Why it is, that only the giver (Christ) and the receiver of the pebble, know the "new name" written upon it?

"No one knows the Father but the Son, and anyone the Son reveals Him to." (Matt.11:27)

In the time of the end, those worshiping the Beast do not know the Father (2Thess.1:8; Rev.16:2; 13:8), nor remember His command for exclusive devotion (Matt.4:10), nor His forbidding the sharing of his glory with any other entity (Isa.42:8; 48:11).
In the time of the end, these divine laws are even violated among God's own priesthood and Nation (Rom.1:25; Rev.11:2; Isa.51:23; Matt.5:13; 2Cor.11:3,4,20,13; 1Tim.4:1; Rev.16:13,14,15; 13:7,4; Jer.5:31) (Isa.5:13,14).
Yes...people from all Nations marvel at the unconquerable Beast Idol with admiration, and ask in praise,
"Who is like the Beast?"!!!

How will Jesus Christ cope with his priesthood of kings (Rev.1:5; 5:10), when they have been mislead into worshiping an Idol in such a manner?
His own priests are endorsing the kingdom of the Beasts (Rev.13:4), instead of the kingdom by their God and Lord 
(Isa.43:13; Ps.50:22; Dan.4:35; Amos4:12)(Ps.2:11,12; Rev.6:17) (Rev.11:15).
What will God's solution to this insulting abomination be? (Eze.8:3,6; Mark13:14; 2Thess.2:4)
What will He direct Christ (the high priest) to do, 
to reprove, cleanse, and discipline his Temple priests (Mal.3:3), in a capacity Jesus has never served in before?

"Michael" must stand up (Dan.12:1), whose "new name" means, "Who is like God ???"
Michael's name reflects his role and purpose during Armageddon  
     (Jer.50:44 --“Behold, like a lion coming up from the
       thicket of the Jordan against a perennial pasture (Hosea13:7,8,9),
       I will suddenly make them run away from Babylon, and I
       will appoint over her whomever I choose (Rev.17:16,17).
       For who is like me? Who will summon me?
       What shepherd can stand before me? -Rev.6:17
       Jer.50:45; Zech.13:7,8,9; Rev.9:18,20; Jer.50:46; Rev.18:9,10,11,15,19).
"Michael" is Christ's "new name". He is the only one to know the answer to the question his "new name" asks, because of Matt.11:27 above.
He is the only one who knows, why God alone deserves unique praise, glory, and honor;
until he also gives this same name (and knowledge) to those whom he chooses (Rev.15:2,3,4,8).
Can you see why this is true, according to Matt.11:27?

At first, Jesus must take a stand for the sovereignty of God, all alone by himself 
[Eze.22:30 (Ps.106:23); Isa.63:5; Eze.13:5; Jer.5:1; Zech.3:9] (Luke18:7,8)
(Matt.25:5,6,7; Mark13:36; Isa.52:1,2,3,4,5,6; 60:1,2; Eph.5:14; 1Thess.5:6).
Those who by God's grace, "catch sight" of the abominations being done in the midst of God's people (Matt.24:15; Eze.8:3,5,6; 9:4) will be roused from their drunken slumber, shocked to realize the conditions which surround them, as well as their own sins. 
(Isa.48:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11; Mal.3:1,2,3; Joel1:13; Rev.11:3)
As a part of their new name,
they must ride forth with "Michael". 
Also having this "new name" written on them,
they too are designated to declare the Supreme Glory and Sovereignty of Almighty God (Isa.43:10,11,12,13,15,21), in the face of the blasphemous Beast! 
(Dan.7:25; 11:36; Rev.13:6; 2Thess.2:4)
These sober virgins must be designated to join Christ in his battle against the demonic idolatry afoot among their fellow slaves. They must fight this battle by means of their testimony to truth 
(Dan.8:13,14; 2Cor.10:4,5; Luke10:19; Rev.2:26,27; 17:14; 19:11,14,8).

How?
They too must receive knowledge of God's omnificence (Rev.4:11; Isa.43:6,7,10,11,12,15,19,21; 1Pet.2:9; Rev.14:7), so that they too can champion God's name as most glorious in all the earth and deserving of all praise.
Jesus Christ, in his new capacity, will give that knowledge to those whom he finds awoken (Matt.11:27; Jer.24:7; Isa.43:10,11; Luke12:36,37,38,39,40; John15:15; Rev.11:3,4; 12:7), rescuing them from the spell and dominion of the Beast (Rev.9:4,5,6,10; Ps.6:4,5; Jer.15:21; 31:11; Isa.43:1; 48:20; Rev.18:4; 14:11,12,13).

So what does it mean that "Michael" will also write his "new name" on the sealed and faithful conquerors?
Just as the end of Matt.11:27 says. (Heb.2:12,13; Isa.50:4; 54:13; Matt.10:27)
He will also reveal the Father's nature as being above all other entities, including the Beast, it's image, and the false prophet (Rev.19:20).
They will know the Father through Christ, in a way that those who are extolling the Beasts, cannot possibly perceive.
This is why they themselves are the only ones who also know the meaning of the name that asks, "Who is like God?" (Rev.2:17; 3:12).

Now, if we return to Isa.43:10,11...
can you see the connection?
Can you see who alone has the right to be called "Yhvh's Witnesses"?
Regarding the name "Yhvh's Witnesses", it is a title given by God himself, to his "chosen" ones (Isa.43:10,11). Others who assume they own that name, commit blasphemy 
(Rev.13:4,5,6,7,8; 11:2; Dan.7:25; 11:36; 2Thess.2:4; Ps.73:9; Isa.37:23; 2:11; Matt.23:12).
In Isa.43:10,11,21 it tells us that these are given knowledge of God, and then declare His praises, sourced in that knowledge. 
These sing a new song...a new understanding of who God is (Rev.14:3; 1Cor.14:15; Ps.147:1,2).

This becomes especially critical, in the time of the end, when all are mislead into extolling the false prophet, the Beast, and it's image.
The faithful can become God's "chosen" witnesses,
due to the new designation and understanding of their new name,
"Who is like God???", which new name, knowledge of God, and capacity to serve, 
is shared with Jesus Christ (Rev.12:7,11; 14:6,7; 22:8,9).

[Another preacher who claims to be Chosen by God, wrote a public commentary about this post. He claimed that the things written here, are not true, based upon the previous existence of "Michael" within the Hebrew scriptures... notably, at Dan.10:13.

You may wish to consider the context of Dan.10:13, and a parallel scripture… Dan.12:1.

“13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me (2Thess.2:4,6,7) for twenty-one days
(3.5 X 6). Then Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes (Ps.45:7,16; Heb.2:11,12,13; Rev.1:5; 5:9,10), CAME TO HELP ME, for I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14 Now I have come to make you understand what is to befall your people IN THE LATTER DAYS, for the vision is for [many] days yet to come.” (Dan.10:13,14)

“And at that time [of the end] Michael shall arise, the great prince WHO DEFENDS AND HAS CHARGE OF YOUR PEOPLE (Eph.5:23; Col.1:18; John14:18; Heb.2:13) (Rev.12:7; 17:14; 19:11,19). And there shall be a time of trouble, straitness, and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the Book (Rev.3:5).” (Dan.12:1)

The angelic messenger speaking to Daniel about his difficulty in coming in response to Daniel’s prayer, discloses that he was finally enabled, due to Michael’s assistance.
He also discloses that his hindrance was due to the "prince of the kingdom of Persia" and the "kings of Persia".
All of these things are prophetic, and pertain to the time of the end.
I hope you may reconsider this perspective, when contemplating when it is, that the appearance of “Michael” (to defend God's people and messenger), actually occurs.
The fact that Daniel experiences this vision before the birth of Jesus Christ, does not negate the power of this prophetic vision. Daniel was a prophet, and the divine visions he experienced pertaining to the time of the end, were prophetic. They are not historical in what they depict, but pertain to the time of the end, as do all depictions of “Michael”.
Daniel’s participation within the visions were inspired by Holy Spirit. It was God’s purpose that he record it, and God sealed it up until the time in which it would be fulfilled…. in the time of the end… not in the time of Daniel.
When one is truly an inspired prophet (Num.12:6);
one understands the basic truth, that what one experiences in vision is not the present reality,
but rather, is a depiction of the future.
The “angel” sent to Daniel, is the same angel/messenger sent to Zechariah (Zech.4:4,9) and to the “Seven Congregations” (Rev.1:1; 22:6,16).

I see you have formed a spiritual alliance with one who promulgates “Watchtower” wormwood, regarding the identity of “Babylon the Great”, rather than the scriptural definition of the entity. Christ has come to offer us “gold refined in the fire” (Rev.3:18; Mal.3:1,2,3). That “gold” is not "24 carat", but is so pure, that it is transparent (Rev.21:21; 22:1).

"Neither 'Hot' nor 'Cold'"

"Jesus spits when he is unsatisfied with our spiritual perspective and perception, and the rotten fruit / teachings that spring from them. During this time of rebellion by the people of God, His messengers should be reflecting God's castigating truths, of either "hail" (cold), or "fiery coals" (hot).

If we consider ourselves God's witnesses, but we are not accepting and declaring God's castigating rebuke to His Nation, then we are in a defective and deficient condition of blindness (Rev.3:16).
Many profess a so-called mutual respect...a "politically correct" position of "agree to disagree";
but such a lukewarm attitude about what is true and what is false, is not acceptable to the Christ, who was tortured and killed for his ardor and loyalty to Truth.
We must accept the reality of our actual standing, with Christ (Rev.3:17,2,15).
If we don't accept his "eyesalve", we will remain blind (Rev.3:18; John9:6).
If we are drunk, asleep, and unresponsive as to the spiritual reality of our circumstances; 
and the perilous spiritual danger which envelopes all those around us;
we wallow in a "lukewarm" passive apathy, and false sense of security."

Armageddon / Timetable of Kingdoms

Rev.20:7-10
"Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

From this we see that the end of the "Thousand Years" does not bring God's Kingdom immediately.
It brings the Great Tribulation and Armageddon, because this is when Satan is released to mislead.

This is the same Battle and war as Rev.16:13,14,16
*It is essential that you understand when the symbolic thousand year kingdom took place. We've heard it taught that it is yet future... after Armageddon. The Great Tribulation and Armageddon ensue upon Satan's release from the abyss.
To understand this better, please consider:
Upon Satan's release, demonic inspired lying doctrines, "gather them together to the battle/war" (Rev.20:8).
"And I saw three unclean spirits (pearl-666.blogspot.comlike frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.  For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.  And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon."
By a comparison of Rev.20:8 and Rev.16:14,
we learn that the "spirits/exhalations of demons" are misleading demon-inspired utterances (1Tim. 4:1),
whose lying doctrines, when spread throughout the earth,
gathering opposing forces into the battle of Armageddon.


So between the end of the Thousand Years 
       (during which the anointed previously enjoyed protection
            from Satanic deception, while he was "abyssed" 
            -Luke 10:19; Rev.20:1,2,3;  1Pet. 1:5)
and the arrival of God's kingdom,
there is Satan's short period of time 
(Matt.24:22; Rev.12:12; 20:3 -end of verse).

Initially, all God's chosen priests are overcome by Satan's lying doctrines and his agents of deception (Rev.13:11,15,7; 11:2; Dan.8:10,11,12,24,25; 11:31,36,37;  2Thess. 2:4; Dan.12:7).
Jesus takes action for the sake of the chosen (Matt.24:22; Dan.12:1; Ps.69:14,15; 144:7; 18:19; John 14:18), and just as the illustration of the "ten virgins" shows (Matt.25:1-13),
some choose to sustain their need for light with the spiritual commerce of the Beast (Matt.25:9; Rev.13:17),
while some wise virgins rather choose to enter the marriage feast with Christ (Matt.25:10; John 10:9; Rev.3:20).
These wise virgins choose to go out to meet the bridegroom (Matt.25:6; Heb.13:13) with lamps lighted with oil from their "receptacle" (1John 2:24,27).
For the five wise virgins, a wedding feast is served (Luke 12:37; John 15:15; 16:15).
The result?
During that time, truth will also become available (Dan.12:3,4), through the lamps of the wise virgins who are being fed by Christ (to counteract the demonic deceptions) (Matt.5:16,14,15).
These virgins, will sacrifice their life to be messenger angels of truth (Rev.6:9,11; Ps.15:1,4; Rev.22:17; 8:2,6;  1Cor. 14:8; Isa.58:1; Jer.6:17; Eze.3:17; 33:3; Micah 3:8,12) in the battle of Armageddon (Rev.12:7,11; 17:14; 2:12,16; Isa.49:2; Rev.19:15,11;  2Thess. 2:8; Rev.19:14,8).
By means of their witnessing (Rev.19:10; 22:16; 14:4,5; 20:4;  2Cor. 10:3,4,5; 6:7),
the judicial basis is established for the Kingdom of God to arrive (Rev.12:10,11).

Satan's target upon his release, are these last of the holy ones (Rev.12:17; 20:9)   
("fire from heaven" --Rev.11:5; Eph.2:6; Matt.10:20).
Satan resists their witnessing to truth, by means of his demonic lies (Rev.12:15; 16:13,14,15,16; 19:19,20; 18:23,24;  2Thess. 2:9,10). 
This spiritual battle between the agent messengers of Christ's truth, and the agent messengers of Satanic lies, is the essence of Armageddon (Rev.12:7; 17:14; 19:11,14; Heb.12:22-23; Luke 10:20).

During the war between truth and lies, Christ and Satan, and the armies of messengers of each side;
a sifting will occur, which will polarize the faith of individual Chosen ones, and cause them to decide to belong to one side, or the other (Joel 3:14; Isa.43:8,9; Dan.7:22; Matt.25:9,10;  1Cor. 11:18,19; Mal.3:18; Matt.7:20) (pearl-finetrees.blogspot.com)
This spiritual warfare facilitates the completing 
       ("and the door was shut" -Luke 13:25; Luke 17:26; Gen.7:16; 
          Rev.3:7; Matt.13:11;  2Thess. 1:8,9) 
of the "harvests", as spoken of in Revelation chapter 14. (Rev.14:14-20) 
The wheat and weeds have been growing to maturity, and have been identified and separated, all throughout this world (Gen.3:15;  1John 3:10,11,12,14). But this harvesting culminates with the final remnant of chosen ones, during Satan's freedom to mislead (2Thess. 2:9,12,10; Rev.2:4). 
When the last chosen heirs are judged (based upon what they are teaching -Matt.12:36,37), this finishes the "harvest of the earth" (Rev.14:14-16), which is the "dried out" harvest of anointed wheat 
(not the "vine of the earth" Rev.14:18; Deut.32:32,33; Joel 3:13,14; Jer.23:14; Rev.11:8 which are the teachings and followers of the poisonous vine -Rev.8:10,11).
