Who should gather for the Memorial?

Good day Sister D,
I hope all is well with you and that preparations are also in order for the memorial.
Not sure if this question has been asked before if so please direct me to it.

Since Jesus sat down with his 12 apostles before chasing Judas away for the occasion. To me it seems like it was a private matter between him and his loyal 11 apostles.  That being the case why do we (non partakers) need to be with the partakers on the night? If Jesus wanted other people to be there he could have arranged it wouldn't you say?

I await your answer on this matter with great anticipation.

"If I understand your questions accurately; you are asking about who should gather to commemorate the Memorial of Christ's death, and who should partake. I will give you a scripture or two for each point, and if you wish to go into one aspect of my reply with more depth, you can follow up.

First... Who should gather?
In my mind, 1Cor. 11:33 makes this clear...
"So then, my brothers and sisters, when you gather to eat, you should all eat together."

Notice that the "brothers and sisters" being spoken of, "gather to eat".
This indicates, that those who gather, are gathering, because they are going to participate in sharing the emblems.

Another scripture...

"After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it among you." (Luke 22:17)
When Jesus offered the wine, he told all who were present, to share it.

So my reply to you is, that those who expect to share in the Memorial by partaking of the emblems, are the ones directly expected to gather, according to the scriptures. No one was present at the original event, except those entering the New Covenant with Christ, and actively partaking.
How do we know who gathered at the original event?

Matt.26:20 tells us:
"When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve."
Why the twelve?
"Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve?” (John 6:70 a)
(John 15:16)
The twelve were present, because they were chosen by Christ to be there.
Were they the only ones that were following him, having put their faith in Jesus Christ?
No. See John 7:31; 11:45; 12:10-11; 12:42.

John 13:2 reads:
"The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus."
The Twelve were there, because Jesus had chosen them, but not all for the same purpose. Jesus knew ahead of time, that Judas would compromise his loyalty to Christ. (John 17:12; 13:11)
Jesus knew the prophecies about him, written in the scriptures. So although the twelve gathered, Jesus knew that Judas was not chosen to be in the New Covenant (Luke 22:20). He had only been chosen, to fulfill what God foretold about the betrayer (Ps.41:9).
At John 13:18 Jesus said:
 “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’"

So it was only those chosen to be in the New Covenant, that were present to partake with Christ.
This assertion is further enforced by a consideration of what Jesus said at that last meal to those in attendance for the emblems:
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last (1Cor. 3:14) —and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you." (John 15:16)
Jesus says that those who attended,
were those whom he "chose" and "appointed". A closer look at the beginning of that verse reveals that it is not possible to choose ourselves to be in this relationship with Christ. We, are chosen, by him.

As John 15:16 stated...those at the Last Supper of our Lord, were a hand-picked group, which Christ selected to "bear fruit" that would last. This directly refers to the "trees of life" inside the Holy City...

"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations." (Rev.22:1,2)

Those who produce "fruit" to heal the nations, are Abraham's seed, about which he was told...
"and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." (Gen.22:18)
These are spiritual Jews (Rom.2:28,29; Gal.3:28,29), and have received of the circumcision of the heart, by Holy Spirit (Col.2:11).
Are all those who put sincere faith in Christ, members of these "chosen" and "appointed" to bear "lasting fruit"?
I could say from personal experience, that to be "chosen" by Christ, is an event that is clearly experienced by the power of Holy Spirit. Those who assert that they are chosen, and yet have not had such an experience, do not realize the difference. Yet, rather than rely on my experience of what it means to be chosen by Christ; let us examine scriptures, which prove that not all who have sincere faith in Christ, should gather and partake of the emblems.

What was the situation in the first Century? Did the 11 who partook, do so because they were the only ones who had put faith in Christ?

"Still, many in the crowd believed in him. They said, “When the Messiah comes, will he perform more signs than this man?” (John 7:31)
 
"Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him." (John 11:45)

"So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well, for on account of him many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in him." (John 12:10,11)

"Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue" (John 12:42)

Clearly, there were in reality, many that put sincere faith in Jesus Christ. Yet only 11 were offered the symbols of his sacrifice that night. If we return to John 15:16, it becomes clearer why this is the case...
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."

Not all who make a personal choice to put faith in Jesus Christ, are appointed by him personally, to heal the nations by the fruit they produce. These have been selected by Jesus Christ, to receive the "circumcision of the heart" by Holy Spirit (Rom.2:28,29; Col.2:11; Heb.10:16; Deut.6:6,8; Rev.14:1;  1Cor. 5:7).
At the original first century occasion, only those so "chosen and appointed" by Jesus, were present at that sacred occasion, to eat the same bread, and drink the same wine, that Jesus did.

Since you already seem to understand these things, I will now comment on your questions...

1. Why do we (non partakers) need to be with the partakers on the night?

Simply put, you don't.
I would compare Christ's last meal with his Chosen Ones,
to a Bridegroom going away before a wedding. He has a last intimate dinner with his fiance before leaving, to assure her of his love and intention to return. He directs her what to do in his absence, and asks her to remember him, his love, and all he is sacrificing for their future. It is not an occasion that he invites all his friends and relatives to attend.
Scriptures like Eph.5:25 and Rev.14:1; and Rev.5:9,10 make clearer, who Christ died for, first (James 1:18; Rom.8:23; Rev.20:5,6).
That ransom will be applied to the rest of creation, under the Kingdom of God... through the sacrifice of Christ AND his completed Bride (Rom.6:5; Rev.6:9,11; Mark 8:35), when the New Covenant ends, through fulfillment (1Cor. 11:26; 13:10; Rom.8:25).

2. If Jesus wanted other people to be there he could have arranged it wouldn't you say?

Absolutely! We need only consider Matt.14:15-21...
"As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the CROWDS away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
“Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children."

If the "Covenant by virtue of Christ's blood" (Luke 22:20) and the emblems which represented it were for all Christ's disciples, Jesus certainly could have included them.
  When one is authentically Chosen by God, the reason why he didn't include the great majority, is easy to grasp. When genuinely chosen by God and Christ, such a one understands that this rare experience is not a wish of one's will (Rom.9:16).
No matter how the scriptures may seem to be leaned upon in one's own reasoning or deductions; inclusion in this chosen and appointed group cannot be assumed, without error. All scriptures about this subject must be accepted; and none, nullified.

As an afterthought,
It is not wrong for all those of faith, to be prayerful during this sacred occasion. Christ's brothers are being trampled, and are enduring perilous spiritual circumstances in our day. Our earnest prayers should be given on their behalf.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." (Eph.6:18)

"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them." (Heb.6:10)
        (1Pet. 2:5,9,10 shows who God's people, are.)
Matt.25:31-46 (-click on to read) conveys the support Christ expects to be extended to his Chosen brothers, by all those of faith.

It is also good for all to remember, that the effects of the meaning of this occasion, reach everyone of faithfulness, just as Rev.22:1,2 highlighted.

Not anointed observing the Memorial -- How?

A QUESTION I RECEIVED:
Dear Pearl,
 I too, very much wish to acknowledge this occasion, & remember Christ. Obviously I used to do this at my local kingdom hall but now this is not an option as I am no part of the organization & feel it would not be right to go back there for this reason especially now that I know that Jesus is personal to each of us.
I am at a loss what to do, I still have that urge to partake which I discussed with you a few months back & you kindly explained that only the bride class/chosen are the ones to partake, which I fully understand. 
That being said I feel I must acknowledge this very special event, so I want to arrange something for my family & to remember this observance, sharing some scriptures & watching a movie about Jesus or something. I would very much appreciate anything you can add.

Hello Darren,
I understand your desire to show respect by acknowledging the meaning the Memorial has, for all who are disciples of Christ.
Through Christ and the New Covenant members, all can receive benefit from these new creation "living" spiritual parents, including eternal life 
(John 6:63; Matt.10:40,41,42; Rev.19:9; 21:6; 22:14,17; John 7:38,39;  1Cor. 15:45; Gal.4:26; John 10:10).
Both parents have sacrificed their lives, for the sake of their potential children (John 10:11,17) (Acts 20:24;  2Cor. 1:5,6; 12:15; Phil.2:17;  1Thess. 2:7,8;  2Tim. 2:10; Mark 8:35; Rev.6:9,11). 
Life is received through the Word of God (Luke 8:11;  1Pet. 1:23; James 1:21; Luke 8:15), and that seed is provided by those who have already died for the sake of it (John 12:24,25;  1Cor. 15:36; Rev.6:9,11; Gal.6:9; Ec.11:1 (http://4womaninthewilderness.blogspot.com/2014/03/pregnant-woman-and-nursing-mothers.html)
This was necessary, because all are under a death sentence (Rom.5:12;  1Cor. 15:22;  1John 2:2), and must be ransomed from Satan's dominion over humanity (1John 5:19).
Satan does not allow any to be freed from his power over death (Heb.2:14; Rev.9:11; Job 38:17) (Matt.16:18; John 1:5; Luke 10:19;  1Cor. 15:55-57; Rev.2:26-27; 3:9), without a ransom (Heb.9:22; Job 33:23,24; Rev.5:9-10; Luke 10:19;  2Cor. 10:4-5).
Just as Satan had the "key" to open death (Gen.3:1,2,3,4,19; John 8:44; 10:10; Heb.2:14; Rev.9:1-3,10;  1Cor. 15:56; Rev.9:11; John 10:10)
Christ and his Bride have the key to release those held captive there, having the "keys" to life.

I suggest a review of all these cited scriptures, and an explanation of them suited to the comprehension of your children.

This Year's Date of Memorial

Hello All,

I noticed that "Jehovah's Witnesses" are planning to hold the Memorial, on Friday, Apr.3rd. This is also the first day of Passover (after sundown), and corresponds to Nisan 14, 5775 on the Hebrew calendar.
Jesus held his last supper with his disciples, the evening before, and he died before sundown the following afternoon, which was on "the day of Preparation" for the Passover to begin that evening.
(John 19:14,31,33,42; Luke 23:53,54)
As can be deduced from the previous scriptures, Jesus held the occasion a full 24 hours before the Passover began.... after sundown.
Of course we know, that he chose that evening, based upon the meaning of the Passover, and his fulfilling of all which it prophetically symbolized
(1Cor. 5:7) (John 1:29) (Rev.14:1) (Rev.5:9,10) (Heb.9:14,15,24) (Heb.10:1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18).

Yet according to the facts, Jesus both performed the first Memorial of his death, and died, the Jewish day (sundown to sundown), before the Passover began.
While Jesus hung there dying, the Passover lambs were being slaughtered for the sundown to come, which sundown would begin the new day, and the beginning of the Jewish Passover. As Passover began, Jesus was already laid in his tomb.
We may either memorialize it on the day of it's meaning, or at the date and time when Christ actually did it, the evening before.
I personally believe that both days are full of sacred meaning. Yet when I think about the ways in which Jesus changed the occasion, and the unique features he added to the observance; I see new things...
   For example, Jesus said,
"And he said to them, 'I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover **with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God. And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, "Take this and share it among yourselves' " (Luke 22:15,16,17)

What I draw from this, is that the Memorial was to be a sharing **with Christ. This was not possible to do on the Passover, when the Jews began their celebration.
Jesus desired to be with his brothers for his occasion; and so he instituted it, the night before the Jewish Passover began.

If the disciples ate the emblems on the following night when the Jewish Passover began, Jesus would not be eating with them as he stated was his desire...For just as he said, "I will not eat it again until...the kingdom of God."
Jesus wanted to be present with his disciples when they all shared in the first Memorial of his death. This was not possible on the Passover Sabbath.
He was present sharing with them, on the evening before, according to his desire.

If we were to travel back in time, to the sundown which followed Christ's death, I personally don't think we would find Christ's grieving and panicked disciples, re-doing the Jewish Passover, without Jesus. The scriptures inform us, that they were totally preoccupied with their upheaval for many days (Matt.26:31; John 20:19,26).

Christ fulfilled the Law (Matt.5:17; Rom.10:4), including most especially, the meaning of the Passover. What he asks Partakers to Memorialize (1Cor. 11:33), was his last meal with his Chosen Ones (Only his twelve) and his death (Matt.26:19,20; John 13:18; 15:16). He asked his Chosen, to "Take this and share it among yourselves." with the thought that he was present with them, as he is today (Matt.18:20).
(Note that not all who put faith in Jesus, participated in this occasion
 -John 7:31; 11:45; 12:11,42. Only his Chosen Ones did. -Matt.26:20; John 6:70)

Remembering that Jesus fulfilled the Law, and it has since passed away (Heb.8:13);
I do not feel obligated to celebrate within the dictates and tradition of the Jewish Passover. I personally am inclined to observe the Memorial of Christ's death, on the date and time in which he instituted it, while he was still alive, and fulfilled his desire to "eat this Passover with you before I suffer.".

I have decided when to partake this year, based upon the scriptures I have offered you, and how they speak to my own conscience. I know that each partaker must do the same. Only God and Christ have the right to give a command. Neither Jesus nor the scriptures, have given a clear command, precisely when to memorialize his sacrifice (Luke 22:19;  1Cor. 11:26). But the scriptures do make clear when Jesus did it...

"I passed on to you what I received from the Lord. On the night the Lord Jesus was handed over to his enemies, he took bread. When he had given thanks, he broke it. He said, “This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do it in memory of me.” (1Cor. 11:23,24)

I will use all the foregoing scriptures as my personal guide, and state this decision, as my own (1Cor. 7:6,25,40;  2Cor. 8:10,8). As we mature, we must each use our conscience over matters that the scriptures do not pointedly decree (Heb.5:14; 13:18; Rom.14:1;  1Tim. 1:5).
I have shared this personal decision with you (1Pet. 5:3;  2Cor. 1:24; Matt.23:8), so that those interested in partaking with me, are aware of my plans, and my reason for them.

I will therefore, be observing the occasion which Jesus commanded... after sundown, on Thursday, April 2nd.
It is only 12 days away. If anyone wishes to obey Christ's words at Luke 22:17; I would be happy to "share it" with you.

The Destroyer and his Family

There are many cited scriptures to ponder. Please take this post in sections, so that they may be considered along with reading.

A QUESTION:

Dear Pearl,
I have a question about Isa 34:15,16,17. Some translation
depict an owl in verse 15 who is making her nest; there also are hawks/falcons
gathering. Is there a relationship to Luke 17:37 here? In vs 16 and 17 (Isa.34:16,17), it
appears to be the gathering of the Body of Christ, each place determined by
His Spirit. What do you think?

MY REPLY:
What you ask has so many references to many unfolding events in the time of the end. It is hard to set up a boundary, for what to discuss and what to leave for another time. I feel utterly incapable of explaining these things which I see. All truth is related to all other truth. Much of it is hard to explain (John16:12; Heb.5:11).
Prayer and effort will be needed on both our parts.
Many scriptures and subjects directly relate to your question. Some clusters of cited scriptures will delve into related thoughts, without my mentioning them in my own comments.
I know I must choose what I offer. If a question arises, please ask further.

All kinds of literal owls and hawks/falcons, were decreed by God as being "unclean" (Deut.14:12,13,14,15,16,17;  Lev.11:16,17,18; 20:25).
In order to grasp the place and identities being spoken about at Isa.34:15,16,17;
it helps to consider the context of those verses, the scriptural symbolism of the identities,
and the prophetic events which are referred to in related scriptures.

If you go back two verses in the context (Isa34:13) (where it also refers to these "owls"),
do you see that "HER" strongholds and citadels will be overrun with nettles and brambles (thorns and thistles) while SHE becomes a home and haunt for the jackals and owls? Those owls are the same as the owls just two verses later, at Isa.34:15.
Now please consider the relationship between Isa.34:13 and Rev.18:2...
"With a mighty voice he shouted:
‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’
    SHE has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit,
    a haunt for every unclean bird, (Lev.11:13,16; Isa.34:13; 13:21; Zeph.2:13,14,15)
    a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal."
These "unclean and detestable animals" and "birds" are not those of God's literal creation (Gen.1:21).
These are symbols of other life forms, which are unseen.

The "screech owl" is translated from a Hebrew word, that warrants a closer look:
STRONG'S HEBREW:
3917. liyliyth -- a female night-demon
... Definition: owl. screech owl From layil; a night spectre -- screech owl.

The screech owl (night demon) is "nocturnal". Jesus spoke of the arrival of "night", and it's effect on his followers. 
(John12:35; 9:4 B; Dan.8:11,12,24; Rev.12:9; 11:2; 13:7). The "screech owl" is at home in that night of darkness.
The "screech-owl" seeks its food by night but hides by day.
It is known in the Bible for it's howling (Micah1:8; Ps.59:15; Pr.27:20), and for occupying the desolated places of Babylon (Isa.14:23; Jer.50:39; Zeph.2:14).
There are additional "monsters" ("jackals","wild goats","dragons", etc.) referred to in the scriptures 
(Isa.51:9; Job 40:15,18,24; 41:2,1,34; 3:8; Ps.74:14; Rev.13:2,4,5). 
Such creatures are spoken of as congregated together in a dark realm.
(Isa.13:21...(Matt.25:33,41)...Isa.13:22,19,20; 34:14; Rev.18:2; 2Pet.2:4; Jude1:6).
Examining each of the original Hebrew names for them, is educational.
    They are described symbolically as creatures we are familiar with. By using such symbolism, the Bible helps us to grasp some of the nature and characteristics of unseen spirit creatures (Gen.3:1,14).

Consider another one of the Bible's "monsters":

There are many prophetic parables, pointing to the same circumstances.

When Jonah refused to obey God's will (Jonah1:1,2,3,12,17), he was swallowed by a sea monster. A good translation of Matt.12:40, records Jesus as stating;
"for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (NASB) (Heb.2:14; Col.2:15)

Though we may naturally think of any motherly depiction as intrinsically good (Isa.34:15),
but remember Rev.17:5...
"The name written on her forehead was a mystery: Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth."
    "Babylon the Great" is also a mother. Her womb is the abyss, and all those belonging to her are under her magic spell leading to death. She also "hatches" her spawn (Rev.9:1,2,3; 13:11,15,7; Mark 13:14).
What is meant, when Isa.34:15 describes the "owl" as nesting eggs?
Evil identities also "hatch offspring", by designing, creating, planning, and acquiring.

He is not far off for those who return to Him 
(Luke11:11,12,13; Jer.4:1; Zech.1:3; Isa.44:22; 48:20; Luke4:18; Matt.24:14).


All these previous considerations may help to clarify, why the Man of Lawlessness is also termed the Son of "Destruction" (2Thess.2:3; Rev.9:11).
It also clarifies who the destroyer is (Isa.33:1) and what he aims to do to his followers (Isa.14:20; John10:10; 8:44), under his wife-like covenant of death (Isa.28:15). 
God's justice, abandons the unfaithful, to him (Matt.23:38,37,33; Luke19:41,43,44). God allows the destruction of the unfaithful who had been graced with His spirit and favor (Rev.2:21,22,23; Heb.6:4,5,6,8; John15:6).

It would be good to read the entire chapter of Isa.34 to get the whole context.
Perhaps when you notice all it's parallels to Revelation, and the fall of "Babylon", you will recognize who the wild animals and unclean birds really are.

Does this relate to Luke17:37?
The Greek word for the birds in Luke17:37 is the same word as
Rev.12:14. It is not the same type of bird, written in Isa.34:15. According to Rev.12:6, her wings take her to a place to be fed, for "1,260 days". 
The two witnesses (Rev.11:3) nurture the woman with eagle's wings. The woman covenant is being fed by the two witnesses, who are "slain" (Rev.11:7; Job 39:27,30; Luke17:37).
Luke 17:37, literally reads (according to the Greek interlinear):
"And they answered and said
unto him, Where, Lord? And
he said unto them,
Wheresoever the body [is],
thither will the eagles be
gathered together."
("Eagle" or "Vulture"?)
Matt.24:28 clarifies, that the "body" is a corpse. The word can also be plural, for those who were slain (Job 39:27,30; Rom.6:5; 2Cor.4:10; Mark8:35; Rev.11:7; 6:9,11).

Those capable of "seeing" the slain "two witnesses", also come to recognize, that they ascend into the clouds (Rev.11:11,12).
This is a joining with the faithful witnesses of heaven (Matt.26:64; Jude1:14; Heb.12:1; 1Thess.3:13; Matt.25:31). Their work is shown up for what it is (1Cor.3:13,14; 4:5; Matt.16:27; 2Thess.1:7,10), and their reward becomes evident due to it's substance (John7:18; 16:13,14,15; 14:17; Rev.1:7; Luke21:27,28) and what befalls them in fulfillment of prophecy (Rev.1:1; 10:7; 22:6,12).

I will bring in a past question of yours, which relates to my reply to you. It is Zech.5:8,9,10,11.
Can you see that the mother 'covenant of death' has a place prepared for her?
It is the desolated realm of the hearts of the dead, where all her demonic creatures dwell (Rev.18:2; Isa.34:15). 
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness." (Matt.23:27,28)
This is what her realm looks like when one is in the spirit. Yet under Satan's guise, it appears as the opposite in the physical realm. (2Cor.11:13,14,15; Isa.5:20).
Just as the mother covenant of life finds a prepared home (Rev.12:6) in the hearts of the living Temple members (Rev.11:3; 14:4,5; Heb.8:10), along with God and Christ (John14:23), and their spirit (Eze.36:27; Rom.8:11), where Christ is King of kings (Rev.1:5; 5:10; John18:36; 15:19);
...so too does the mother covenant of death find her own abode among her Harlot daughters (Zech.5:11; Luke11:24,25,26; Isa.28:15; Prov.5:3,4,5; 7:26,27; Rev.17:5; Ps.137:8; Zech.2:7; Rev.18:4; 1Cor.6:15; Rev.17:2; John3:20; Job 24:15,16,17)...a home for the spirits of demons, symbolized by the unclean birds (Rev.18:2; Isa.34:13).
   Be astonished. "Her place" (Zech.5:11) is where she sits upon the Wild Beast (Rev.17:3; 13:1,4), and all the waters controlled by it (Rev.17:1,15; 13:16,17,18; 2:13)
...and we know where Satan has this throne, today!

I have touched upon what I thought to be the necessary things, in order to provide a grasp of what the scriptures tell about Isa.34:14,15. I hope I have included enough, but not too much as to make it overwhelming. This is always a challenge for me. Please let me know if you need clarification.
I am thinking the coverage I gave verses 14 &15 may be enough to provide an answer for you.
But you ask about verses 16 and 17 also.
Without too detailed an analysis;
perhaps the scriptures I insert will suffice:

"16 Look in the scroll (Isa.30:1,5,8,9) of the Lord and read:

For every event prophesied about the faithful, there is a corresponding event among the unfaithful.
Satan has attempted to emulate every detail, within his fabricated counterfeit. Christ has used prophetic symbolism, which applies to the unfolding events of both sides. Knowing this, aids us while interpreting.

Part II -- "Chosen" to Belong to the Bride

This post is a continuation to Part I:
"Invited" and "Chosen" at the "Marriage Feast"

In Part I, scriptural evidence was presented to explain that Matt.22:14 is referring to the many secondary invitees from off the Greek: "broadway leading out of the city", "both bad and good" (Matt.22:9,10), and how from among these, "few are chosen" (Matt.22:14).
   In this Part II, scriptures will be presented to clarify, that the choosing which occurs within the marriage feast, is not the same as the choosing which occurs when God inducts another anointed member into the body of Christ.

Both Part I and Part II have been written in response to the following comment:

"Pearl...you said, "Chosen ones will either pass or fail Satan's sifting".
Please don't take this as picking, but "many are Invited but few are chosen". 
"Chosen" are those who have passed all tests. 
Pearl, you should say, "Invited ones will either pass or fail Satan's sifting".
After that sifting, then they are "Chosen", and thus then fit to be Yhwh's Witnesses ---not before. 
Otherwise, all Invited could be called "Chosen", 
and they are not. :-) "

  This comment relays the idea, that the chosen of Matt.22:14 are interpreted, as not only "invited" to the marriage feast, but have also been invited by God into the Body of Christ as his Bride.

The sealed Bride is not one of the invited guests at her own marriage feast. Those elected to become her, are expected and obligated to attend. They are the initial ones invited (Matt.22:3,5,6,8) to partake of the newly presented provisions (Rev.5:5,7; 20:12; 10:8; John 15:15; Rev.1:1; John 16:13;  1Cor. 13:10; Rev.10:7; 19:9; 21:6,7; 22:17; Dan.12:9,4,10). 
The first priests to be fed by Christ, are his apostles and prophets (1Cor. 12:28; Eph.2:20,21; Amos 3:7; Rev.10:7) because they are the foundation of all God's Temple servants  ("servants" -Matt.22:3,4,5,6; 21:34,35,36; 24:49; Zech.2:11; 4:9; Jer.26:15). The 7 stars/angels/messengers/prophets herald the battle (Hosea 8:1; Jer.4:5,19; Joel 2:1; Eze.33:3; Rev.8:2,6), to call together and feed his body of priests/7 congregations (Matt.24:31; Rev.10:7; Amos 3:7; Mark 10:43; Eph.4:11,12;  1Cor. 4:1; 3:10; Eph.2:20,21; Prov.9:1; Rev.1:20;  1Cor. 14:33; Rev.3:12) so that all priests/virgins/7 congregations of the Lord's people (1Pet. 2:10,9;  1Cor. 14:33; Rev.1:20), may distribute to all attending the Feast, as is their priestly duty (Matt.22:9,10) (Matt.25:4; 5:15) (Zech.8:23; Rom.2:28,29; Col.2:11) 
(2Chron. 31:4; Mal.2:7;  2Cor. 5:20; Lev.10:11; Neh.8:7; Haggai 2:11; Matt.14:15,16,19; John 21:17; Rev.5:10; 22:2; Matt.7:20; John 15:8)

The comment also relays the idea, that the members of Christ's Bride are not to be preachers of truth ("witnesses") until they "pass" "Satan's sifting" and are thus at that point, "chosen". Both these assertions are not correct.

One may not belong to Christ's body at all, unless chosen by God and Christ, to be so (John 15:16; Eph.1:3,4; 2:10;  2Thess. 2:13;  2Cor. 1:21,22)(1Cor. 12:18,28). Once chosen as a member, they have already received their priestly assignment to bear witness (Isa.43:10,21;  1Pet. 2:9; Heb.13:15; John 15:8; Luke 6:44,45; Isa.51:16; 50:4;  1Cor. 2:10; Mal.2:7), along with all the resources they need, to equip them to fulfill it (Matt.25:14,15,19,20,21; Rev.3:18; Ps.12:6;  2Tim. 4:2). They will prove either faithful with their witnessing assignment, or not (Rom.12:6; Heb.10:38;  1Cor. 9:16; Acts 4:20; Titus 1:3; Rom.10:14;  2Cor. 9:6; Luke 8:11; Ps.126:5; Matt.25:23,24,25,26,28,29,30). 
Those who squander the resources given them, will have all they were given, taken back (Luke 8:18). Those who are diligent, will be given more to work with (Luke 16:10,11; 19:17)....
up to and including, the final treasures/revelations, served within the marriage feast (1Cor. 13:9,10; Eph.4:13; Rev.10:7; 1:1; 19:9; 5:5; John 15:15; Rev.1:1,20; John 16:12,13,14,15),
when the Bride of Christ/Temple, reaches completion (Rev.22:17; Zech.4:9,10,14; Rev.11:4;  1Pet. 2:5; Zech.4:9; Rev.22:6).

The five wise virgins who enter the feast with the Bridegroom, were found ready (Luke 12:37; Matt.24:42; Mark 13:37). Due to being faithful with least, they are granted much, by being given more "gold" within the feast
While they faithfully dispense what they are given within the feast (to all guests, "both bad and good"), they are then, the sealed Bride.

  In Part I, scriptures were presented to shed light on what it means to be "invited" and "chosen" within the context of the marriage feast parable. (Part I)

  In this Part II, scriptures will be presented to show that when selected to become a member of Christ's Body, it is not the "invitation" to the marriage feast, but rather, an irrevocable calling by the choice of God. Once called, the one selected is obligated to fulfill their priestly duties, including preaching ("witnessing"), despite Satanic persecution. IF FAITHFUL WITH PRIESTLY WITNESSING, while enduring Satanic opposition; that member of the elect is not then "chosen", but rather, is "SEALED" as a faithful slave of God and Christ. 
  By means of these two posts, I hope to clarify the difference between being "chosen" at the marriage feast,
and being chosen as a member of Christ's Bride.
  Those chosen to belong to the Body of Christ are described as "called" and "chosen".
Those who fulfill the divine purpose of their calling and choosing, are described as "faithful" and "sealed".
Scriptural evidence presented in Part I, partly established that the previous four terms which refer to the Elect, are not the same experiences as being "invited and chosen" within the marriage feast. In Part I, the invitation and choosing within the marriage feast, was explained.

PART TWO -- "CHOSEN" TO BELONG TO THE BRIDE


When using such words as "our" and "we", the following article is written from the perspective of a Chosen One.

It is difficult to translate an explanation and description of such spiritual concepts and experiences, into written word. I will try my best. If questions arise, please use the contact form.

Jesus described what his Bride members would need to experience, in order to advance and fulfill their divine purpose, successfully. Their unfolding destiny is never described as an "invitation".

The path of the Elect may seem mysterious and circular, as partially described in the next two scriptures. One path is described as being drawn to Christ by the Father. They other is described as going to the Father, by means of Christ. How can both be simultaneously true?

As a first step in understanding the "called, chosen, and faithful" of Rev.17:14 (and it's distinctive contrast to the "chosen" described at Matt.22:14);

it helps to look at the first step in this progression, which the scriptures describe as...
being drawn/"called" to Christ, by God (John 6:37,39,44; Rom.8:30).
Christ is the "way, truth, and life" toward which those elected are originally drawn to, by God. As the "Word of God" (John 1:14,4,9;  1Tim. 2:5), Christ is found within the scriptures ("way" -Ps.119:105; "truth" -John 17:17; "life" - 1Pet. 1:23; John 6:63). God's spirit, draws those of complete heart, to the scriptures (which IS Christ/God's Word -"I am bread from heaven/man does not live by bread alone"). There they are helped to discover Christ as the way, the truth, and the life. By means of that knowledge (seed of life/heavenly bread/living water), such ones can progress in spiritual growth and move forward on the path of knowledge in the person of God (John 14:9 B). If the example left by Christ is fully imitated (leaving you a model. pick up torture stake.follow lamb wherever he goes.share in suffering/glory.where lord also killed.finish race) at the end of that course, one finds God (the knowledge of God, see his face, make our home, bring you to god, filled with knowledge of God, be my people, god with them.).

Summary: The Word of God provides truth that leads to life. Christ embodies that way, truth and life. If faithfully followed as Exemplar, teacher, and master; Christ leads us to God, that we become His children forever, and members of His New Creation.

These descriptive terms (called, chosen, faithful) must not be oversimplified or compartmentalized, or we will wrongly conceive their meaning. 
All three aspects of the heavenly calling are pursued continually by those proving worthy of God's selection.

Note that even those "called" were already Chosen...(Rom.8:27,28,29,30; 9:23,24) and expected to be faithful in their witnessing activities (2Tim. 1:8,9; 4:15,16).

God's calling should not be confused with an invitation, which one may decline. God's calling may not be refused (Rom.11:29). To refuse (one who speaks) is to resist (holy spirit) His spirit, break ones vow, and enter judgment (once taste to be revived)

The "calling", is to embark upon an ongoing association with Christ (1Cor. 1:9; Gal.1:6;  2Thess. 2:14; Heb.9:15;  1Pet. 2:9; 3:9)... not a checklist in a sequence of accomplished tasks. After being chosen, we continue to be called and drawn to Christ, as we progress in knowledge of Truth and continue to act in faithfulness.

Our calling is to be holy, even as Christ is Holy (1Pet. 1:15; John 15:5; Rom.11:16; 1:7;  1John 3:3;  2Cor. 7:1; Isa.35:8;  1Thess. 4:7; 3:13;  1Cor. 1:2;  2Tim. 1:9). It is a calling that continues forever (Rom.1:7; Rev.22:11), as long as the holy ones have free choice.
Through their purification in Christ (wash word/bloodwash robes), these holy ones are enabled to go to the Father (John 14:6), just as Jesus did (John 14:28,4,3,2; Eph.2:22; Rom.8:9,11;  1Cor. 6:19; John 12:26). Those proving faithful as chosen priests, become established members of God's "dwelling"/Temple/"abode" (Acts 7:49; Ps.132:7; 99:5; Isa.60:13; Eze.47:7; 37:27; Rev.21:3; 22:2).
The divine calling to be God's Holy Dwelling, never ends. Our reply to it is a personal choice that must continue forever.

Can lose union with the Head...becoming unfaithful after being part of the functioning body. Therefore, was working as witness while Chosen. Priests are wtinesses who declare God's glory (Isa.43:10,21;  1Pet. 2:9. Such priests can also prove unfaithful (eze.44; Jer.33:21; 5:31; Mal.2:1,2,4,8; Rev.2:20; Mal.3:3; Neh.13:29; Matt.7:
They are a part of Christ's branches, who can be "lopped off" (Rom.11:18-21; John 15:5,6; Matt.7:19,18,15,16,20,21,22,23; 25:11,12,13). Throughout the previous illustrations, Jesus makes clear that those already chosen and proving faithful in their witnessing, can fall (Eze.18:24; Matt.10:22; Rev.3:11; Col.2:8; Gal.6:9;  1Cor. 15:58;  2Thess. 3:13; Heb.12:3,5).
The Holy ones must continue to prove their calling, their choosing, and their faithfulness.
Chosen
At the point of being chosen, we are already expected to "bear fruit", or, witness (John 15:16)
Paul was not finished being called to holiness when Chosen (Acts 9:15; 22:13-16; 26:15,16; Phil.3:12,13,14)

This post follows PART I about being invited and chosen within the "Marriage Feast" of Matt.22:1-14.
As branches in association with Christ, his called, chosen and faithful followers are given the nourishing sap of Holy Spirit, through which they also receive understanding of God's deep things. They are then expected to bear fruit, offering that knowledge to yet others. If they fail to bear this fruit of lips by witnessing, they are "lazy" slaves who have buried what the master gave them. As soon as a called one is brought into the Body of Christ and into the true vine, they are expected to be fruitful. There is no other way to prove faithful.
How then, can they only become witnesses, after proving faithful?
Faithful with what?
Jesus makes very clear what previous deeds his slaves performed, previous to being declared by him as faithful.
They made good use of what he left them with (Matt.28; bags of gold Rev.3:18) sow bountifully reap bountifully will reap if do not tire out.
Those who prove faithful with their initial assignment, are given more. If they continue faithful, what they are given grows. Jesus gives his slaves from what he himself receives from God. In the time of the end, scrolls are opened. Jesus receives more from his father, and he gives more, to those proving faithful at that time.
When the sacred secrets of God come to a finish and are fully opened, this is the marriage feast. Who are invited to this divine knowledge, first? It is god and Christ's intention that all Christ's branches receive it. They are the first to receive of Gods messages and knowledge Mal.2:7;  1John 2:20,27; John 16:15,16; spirit taught words. They are the first ones who were invited to the marriage feast. But according to prophecy, the holy ones are then being trampled, taken captive, and scattered among the Gentiles. They are overcome by the Wild Beast and it's spiritual commerce, just as the foolish virgins demonstrate. They are weighed down with the anxieties of that religious system and it's fear of pleasing men. They do not respond to God's call to the marriage feast, by attending. They prove unworthy to enter, just as the five foolish virgins did.
These are "branches" that prove fruitless, because they have lost their union with Christ. This is why God condemns them for declining the final sacred secrets, by their preference for the table of demons.
As the parable tells us,
God then decides to make the wedding feast available to all. This does not mean that all are now invited to be anointed priests. They are invited to the spiritual feast that God has given Christ, and Christ has given to those who prove ready. The virgins that entered the feast with Christ, will all be fed. Anyone hearing can partake of the living water, and invite yet others to partake.
Many are and will be invited to the opened scroll of Revelation. They are not all Chosen ones. Of all those secondarily invited, of both spiritual Jew and Gentile, not all will be chosen to understand. There will be anointed ones who will sample the feast, not understand, and reject it.
There will be "bad" off the streets who will be chosen to understand what they are reading, though not anointed.
Yet all who are given understanding and have appreciation,
will receive life.
, whether the anointed prophet, or the one who receives him.

THESE ARE THE ONES INITIALLY INVITED

Being invited and chosen within the parable of the marriage feast, is not the same being chosen to become the Bride of Christ.
Each member of Christ's body, has been called and chosen to be so, and positioned within that Body, according to God.
CHOSEN TO BELONG TO CHRIST

That calling is not negotiable, nor can it be refused. It is not an invitation. If God's calling is refused, it results in condemnation. It is not a choice. (Rom.11:29;  2Pet. 1:10; Heb.2:3) True, we can refuse God, but what happened to those who refused to attend the marriage feast? (Matt.22:8,5,6,7) The marriage feast and God's heavenly calling are not the same, but refusing Him under any circumstances, is.

After being called and chosen to belong to Christ, they can prove unfaithful, or faithful; become perfect and Holy, or not; become sealed, or not. Yet they were always chosen, right from when God chose them to be His priest and witness.

You have the invitation to the marriage feast, and the choosing which follows for those graced with grasping that feast....

All called to join the body of Christ, have been chosen. As His priests, they must immediately and consistently be God's witnesses. This is the test of becoming sealed. If they do not witness previous to being sealed, they never will be.


The ones who prove faithful, are SEALED as God's obedient slaves...not chosen.

God's "Angels"

A QUESTION:

Pearl,
I was thinking about Heb.1:6, and "God's angels".
I know that Christ's angelic messengers are the anointed, after they become living spirits,
but am I correct in thinking that Christ's "angels" are not the same as God's angels,
and that God's angels are those who were never human?

My Reply:

We remember that Christ is the only mediator between God and Mankind (1Tim. 2:5). Any "messengers" (Greek: "angels") sent to mankind, must be in service to him (John 1:51; Gen.28:10-14,17; Eph.2:19). He always was God's mediator, and this is why he was called "The Word" (John 1:1). As God's primary spokesperson to all creation, [including to the original creation's angels (1Pet. 3:19,20)]; he IS the "archangel"..."arch" meaning primary (Eph.2:20; Rom.8:29), and "angel" meaning messenger/spokesman (John 12:49; Rev.20:1; Luke 8:31; Rev.1:18; Heb.2:14). "The Word" and "ArchAngel" are interchangeable titles, for God's only mediator and 'primary-messenger' ('arch-angel').

Along with God's physical creation (Gen.3:11,13,17,19; 6:5,6,11,12), 
God's original heavenly angelic persons were also brought down into corruption and death by means of Satan 
(Gen.6:2,4; Jude 1:6).
The original "heavens" were corrupted (Eph.6:12; 1:20,21;  1Cor. 15:24,25,27).
How many of that spiritual creation sided with Satan?**

     **The "Watchtower" teaches that one third of the angels fell into sin. This idea is derived
         from Rev.12:4. This is not correct, because those "stars" are not the demons.
        They are the Chosen Ones (Phil.2:15; Dan.12:3; Rev.1:20; 8:10,11; 9:1;  2Pet. 3:17; Rev.2:5).
        The symbolic "third" are those anointed "stars" whom God successfully disciplines in the time of the end
        (Zech.13:8,9; Rev.9:18,20; 6:9,11; Mark 8:35).]

We are told that the "heavens" and "earth" belonging to the original creation, are passing away, due to their corruption (2Pet. 3:7).
These are to be totally replaced with a new heavens and earth (Rev.21:5;  2Pet. 3:13)... a totally New Creation. The new heavens will include new angels (divine "messengers") (Matt.22:29,30;  1Pet. 3:22; Eph.1:22; Heb.2:5,16,8,12; 12:22,23; Luke 10:20; Rev.1:20; 8:2,6; Josh.6:4; Mal.2:7)

From Mal.2:7, you may have noticed that the ancient priests were God's messengers. That priesthood was prophetically designed, according to a future priesthood of heaven (Heb.8:5,1,2; 9:11,24; 3:1,2; Mark 14:58;  1Cor. 3:16;  1Pet. 2:5,9; Eph.2:20,21,22,6).
Remember that the definition of the Greek "angel", IS "messenger".

So the priests, are God's messengers (Mal.2:7).
How does the old Covenant priesthood, compare to the new? 
Are the new priests, also God's messengers?

Now consider Rev.20:6...
"Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years."
Can you see that the New Covenant priests serve both God and Christ?
Remember from Rev.7:3, that God's slaves are so branded on their foreheads, symbolically (Deut.6:6,8; 11:18; Heb.10:16). This means that God's Words of Truth (John 17:17) are "written" in their hearts. From their hearts, they speak that truth (Luke 6:45,43; Rev.14:5; Matt.7:20; John 8:47; 7:16-18)

The 144000 priests of truth, slave as God's priests. This is symbolically designated by having one's forehead "marked" (Deut.11:18; Rev.7:3; 14:1).
What then of Christ's ("Michael's") angelic messengers? 
Are God's priests also in servitude to him?
Note that God's priests are also in servitude to Christ and the Holy City...
"The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name." Rev.3:12

What is Christ's "new name"? What does it mean to serve the meaning of that new name?
A "New Name"..."Michael". Why?

Rev.1:6 and Rev.5:10 plainly stated that the priesthood (messengers) of the New covenant, serve God (1Pet. 2:5,9,10; Jer.31:33). How then, do they also serve Christ  / "Michael"? 
(2Cor. 5:20; Acts 1:8; Matt.28:20; Rev.12:7; 19:11,14; 17:14;  2Cor. 10:5,3,4; Rev.12:9,11; Luke 10:20)
We must remember here,
that Christ himself, as the "Word", was a witness/messenger/angel of God (Rev.1:5; 10:1; Matt.17:2; John 1:14; 18:37).
All he taught was from God (John 12:49; 7:16; 8:28; 17:8).
Therefore, it is not possible to be Christ's witness/messenger/priest/angel,
without being God's witness/messenger/priest/angel, also (John 13:20).

In summary,
God's original creation, both physical and spiritual, was corrupted.
God has purposed to bring about a re-creation 
(Matt.19:28; Rev.21:5; Gal.6:15;  2Cor. 5:17; Eph.2:10,15; 4:24; Col.3:10; Isa.65:17) 
in which righteousness dwells (2Pet. 3:3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14).
(John 3:3;  1Pet. 1:23; Luke 8:11,15; John 1:13;  1John 3:9; Matt.5:48; James 1:18,21)

That re-creation includes new heavens / angelic spirits / divine messengers.

who serve both, God and Christ.
Regarding Heb.1:6,
you may wish to consider how the 144000 will serve and worship Christ, 
(Dan.7:18; Rev.14:1; 22:3,5; 1:5;  1Cor. 3:11; 15:27; Ps.45:7,16)

If we look at the entirety of Heb.1:6;
God's "angel" messengers (Mal.2:7) worship Christ (Heb.8:1; Dan.7:14 (Rev.5:9,10) (Isa.9:7; Dan.2:44; Rev.1:5; 5:10), "when God again brings his firstborn into the world". This helps to clarify who the angels are (Mark 14:62; Heb.12:1;  1Thess. 3:13; Matt.25:31). The "firstborn" sons, as a group, are the Holy Ones/Holy "angels"  (James 1:18; Rev.14:4; Heb.12:22,23; Luke 10:20;  1Tim. 3:15; 5:21) (Rev.5:11; Dan.7:10; Jude 1:14)
who will come "into the world" during God's Kingdom (Rev.21:2; John 1:51).
